Avancemos: Celebraciones
Students will create a presentation, either Power point or poster and will present to the class describing the Spanish celebrations and all qualities and characteristics and how they compare to their own traditions
Aug 20-Aug31 ,
Your assignment is to research a celebration from the Spanish-speaking world. Once the information below is obtained you will create a PowerPoint presentation of no more than 5 slides and share the information gathered with your classmates (¡en español!)
They fall under the same grading rubric as the following:
Each presentation must include the following: In Complete Sentences!
• Name of Celebration and what is it’s meaning and importance
• Information of the location of country(ies) of celebration in text form and a colored map
• The month of the year celebrated
• Three (3) important facts of the celebration
• Use of the vocabulary associated with the celebration from the textbook
• a short video of less than 1 minute presenting the celebration
• Provide a mini lesson (handout, discussion, activity etc. of your choice)
• Compare and contrast the celebrations in the different locations by describing the people and customs
***You must include images/graphics on each slide and an appropriate description of each category!!***
Day 1-2: Search to find the above information
Day 3-4: Create PowerPoint Presentation
Day 5: Finish PowerPoint presentation and practice speaking
Day TBA: Present to class
